The Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design (FAMD) is an organization at Central Michigan University for students planning a career in the fashion and retailing industry. We formed to promote creativity, passion and professionalism among its members and to the community.

Las Vegas
One of the main networking events FAMD attends in each year is Magic Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MAGIC Trade Show is the largest global marketplace for contemporary men’s and women’s apparel, footwear, accessories and sourcing resources — and the world’s most comprehensive forum for fashion buyers and brands. Every February and August, the industry convenes in Las Vegas for connection, inspiration and to shop a portfolio of ten expertly merchandised shows across every category, trend and price point. With more than $200 million in orders written daily, MAGIC fuels the business of fashion.
Philantropies and Socials
The Fashion Assocation of Merchandising and Design values volunteer work immensely. During my time as a part of FAMD we participated in a variety of events including the annual Relay For Life and volunteering at a local Mount Pleasant nursing home, The Laurel's. We hold both a Homecoming and Valentine's Day Ball at The Laurel's Nursing Home.
As an organization, we also value social events for memebers to relax with friends within our major outside of an academic setting. We host a variety of events for students to make long lasting friendships and find support within our program.
